Students receive individualized attention to improve on their instrument, meet goals to move up in their section, become section leader, achieve superior ratings at contest, improve skills and have fun playing.
Half hour individual lessons: Work on a solo or prepare for an audition, learn special techniques like double and triple tonguing or jazz improvisation, and improve the fundamentals of your instrument for a solid foundation. $30
One hour “Total Musicianship” lessons: all the above, plus instruction in music theory, ear training, jazz improvisation, conducting and score study. You choose the topics most relevant to your goals - auditioning for Youth Orchestra or CYWE or a college scholarship; Drum Major or section leader in your band, or just interested in all aspects of music.
Small group lessons: two or three students work together on duets and trios as well as music theory, ear training and conducting. Students should be approximately the same age and ability but may play different instruments (i.e. trumpet and trombone). One hour; $30 per student (max three per lesson)
